Elected to the Commission in November 2002.

Brought up in Tallahassee. Retired from the Hartford, as a Loss Control Consultant, and continuing part time as a safety consultant. Public safety Administrator for Collier County, Planning Administrator for the State of Florida, Division of Emergency Management. Operations manager for a wholesale distributor. Retired from the Air Force in 1979. Held the positions of a Security Police Officer, Missile Combat Crew Commander, Director of Safety for several installations, in the areas of Missile, Ground, Industrial, Traffic, Explosive, and Nuclear Safety.

Past President of the Belleair Beach Civic Association, Past Chairman of the Code Enforcement Board, Certified Trainer for the Community Emergency Response Team, past member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, and in the National Register of Safety Professionals.

BS from Florida State University, and an MA in Public Administration from Webster University.

Married, three daughters, five grandchildren, and grandfather to five registered angus hefers, and one horse.
