Commissioner Robert McEwen

Currently serving as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Fire Commissioners. Was elected in November 2000.

Prior to membership on the Board of Fire Commissioners, served in the US Marine Corps. 1946-1967, retiring at age 37 as a Public Affairs Officer; 1967-1986 was in advertising, promotion and sales for United Media Enterprises, the world’s largest newspaper feature service, retiring as Vice President of Sales. Served as Mayor of Indian Shores for ten years, 1990-2000, and council member for one year, 1987.

Past National President, USMC Combat Correspondents Association, 1971-1972, 1997-1998, and 1998-1999. Married to Mary Carter (Faust) 1956, two children, two grandchildren. Hobbies are reading, traveling, golfing. Been an Indian Shores resident since 1977, and regularly on the Board of the Bay Mariner Condo. Association; largest condo in the town.
