Truck 28 Training Classes

This is what it’s all about – providing the proper apparatus, tools, equipment and training in order for those in this chosen profession to apply themselves thus reducing injuries, preventing loss of life and property.

The Board of Fire Commissioners of Pinellas Suncoast Fire & Rescue recently purchased a fully equipped 2002 Pierce 75’ aerial truck, comprising foam and water tanks, water pumps, and computers that speak.  This vehicle is designed to carry all equipment necessary to handle and manage emergency medical services, extrications, rescues and fire suppression.

How better to increase education, skills and habits than to bring in an expert from the Pierce manufacturer to train all available members of our career and volunteer services.  Classes were conducted 8 hours a day for 3 continuous days to ensure that all involved had the opportunity to see, touch, operate and question any and every thing that could improve their proficiency in emergency situations.

Blending all this information with an intense training program that will involve driving, and operating the vehicle, coupled with teamwork, it is believed we will be more efficient and productive in all aspects of aerial truck operations.
